<p>Tax tips are now available online using your iPhone or Droid. Thanks to an article entitled &#8220;Using Social Media To Get Tax Information&#8221; on Boston.com, here is a list of online resources available from both the <strong><a title="Internal Revenue Service website" href="http://www.irs.gov" target="_blank">Internal Revenue Service</a></strong> website and social media portals that can be useful not just during tax season but throughout the calendar year. The article at Boston.com lists resources that are accessible from either your desktop computer or mobile phone.  In fact, <strong><a title="USA.gov mobile app store" href="http://apps.usa.gov/irs2go/" target="_blank">IRS2Go</a></strong> is a mobile app for both Apple and Android users. It provides personal tax refund information and other tax tips and tax-related information.</p>

<p>Each year the IRS presents a series of forums, workshops, and classes over a 3-day event in cities throughout the continental US.  The IRS Nationwide Tax Forums are held in a variety of cities including Georgia, Florida, Texas, California, Nevada, and the District of Columbia.  Tax professionals should take advantage of <a href="http://www.irstaxforum.com/index">early registration</a> (typically no later than two-weeks prior to the scheduled start of the local event) to secure not only a seat in the venues they want to attend but also significant discounts on the registration fees.  Some forums and workshops can offer up to 18 continuing professional education credits (CPE) Circular 230 tax professionals can apply toward annual re-certification requirements.</p>

<p>There are often additional exhibits and meetings sponsored by both the IRS and other industry participants that offer consultation, products, and services.  If you are a tax professional, there are opportunities to visit and discuss your experiences and possible case studies with more experienced practitioners in the Practitioner Case Resolution Room. These consultation sessions are typically available at to-be-arranged times during these 3-day events.</p>
